Yes. If an individual has completed an equivalent and eligible Level 3 mental health first aid qualification, that was gained in the last three years, they can complete the MHFA Refresher course to become a member of the Association.
The following qualifications have been assessed and approved as qualifications that would meet the MHFA Refresher eligibility:
- FutureQuals Level 3 Award in Mental Health: Workplace First Aider Qualification (RQF): FutureQual Qualification Number: 610/1484/9 (Previous version number: 603/7368/4)
- FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF): Qualification Number 603/3770/9 (Also alternative title FAA Award in Leading First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 6: Qualification Number: SCQF R601 04)
- QualSafe Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace: Qualification Number 603/5026/X
The certificate in relation to these qualifications must be dated as issued within the last three years to be considered valid.
Learners and Instructor Members can contact MHFA England if they believe a learner has taken a qualification that may be eligible. They should send a copy of the certificate to queries@aomhfa.org
Currently, there are no equivalent Youth Mental Health First Aid courses or qualifications available, so Youth MHFA learners will need to complete the Youth MHFA course to become a member.
