Why did we re-develop the new Youth MHFA course?

We re-developed the Youth MHFA course to replace the existing Youth MHFA Two Day and Online Youth MHFA courses. We updated the content and materials in line with the latest mental health language, statistics, and best practices. This included updating the films and activities as part of our regular maintenance cycle.

Our goal is to align both the MHFA® and Youth MHFA courses by:

• Introducing the Youth MHFAider® role
• Adding Youth MHFA conversation films
• Creating a single session plan for online and face-to-face delivery
• Offering membership with the Association of Mental Health First Aiders® to Youth MHFAiders, providing MHFAider support and benefits
