A development activity is any learning or training opportunity that enhances your
skills and knowledge in the Instructor Member role. For example, a webinar on a
specific area within mental health or a training session that builds upon your skills as a
facilitator. It could include workshops, webinars, conferences, courses, or
participating in mentoring programmes.
You’re required to complete a minimum of one development activity with MHFA England from the following:
– Instructor training courses : Helping you develop your skills as an Instructor
Member and deliver additional courses. Adding courses to your portfolio
enables you to reach a wider audience
– Instructor Member Development Programme events : Deepening and
broadening your knowledge and skills. These events are free and are led by
subject matter experts covering a range of topics. Recordings of previous
webinars can be accessed via the Online Learning Hub. Both live attendance
and watching a webinar recording count
– Instructor Member networking and engagement events : Allowing you to meet
and network with other Instructor Members to share best practices and
connect with the MHFA England team. Events take place regularly and are free
to attend. Attending just one event counts towards your requirements
Mandatory training, such as redeveloped course upskills, or Instructor Member
Recaps do not count towards your membership renewal compliance requirements.
