We recommend speaking to your learner to understand if they are currently experiencing mental ill health or whether they have recovered.
If they are currently experiencing mental ill health, we would recommend using your mental health first aid skills to support and signpost your learner to appropriate help. Whilst the course does cover self-care and can be useful for those that have experienced mental ill health and recovered, it is not intended as therapy.
If your learner has experienced mental ill health and recovered, we would recommend you encourage them to identify someone who can support them if the content of the course impacts their well being. They can also choose to step out if there are parts of the course they find difficult.
