In a live session you can use break out rooms to group learners for discussions and exercises.
To do this you can select the ‘tools’ option in the virtual classroom and select ‘breakout’. You can drag participants names into rooms, or you press auto-assign for random selection of groups. You can also set an optional timer for how long you want learners in their breakout rooms for before they will automatically be brought back together into the main virtual classroom.
Once you have allocated groups you can click on ‘breakout’ and learners will be taken automatically to their designated group break out room.
You can end breakout room sessions at any time by selecting the ‘manage breakout’ option and pressing ‘end breakout’.
You can see a ‘How to’ video step by step guide for this in the Online MHFA Mental Health First Aid instructor upskill course on the Online Learning Hub under ‘Using the live session controls’.
