In the summer of 2020, following the killing of George Floyd, we published a solidarity statement here. This was followed by a Statement of Intent where we committed to become an anti-racist social enterprise. You can read our Statement of Intent here. In it we set out a number of commitments, including upskilling our Instructor Member Community. This is the first step.
Instructor Members have a position of authority and influence in their work with delegates. With that comes a responsibility to understand structural racism and privilege, and to integrate that understanding into their MHFA England training.
Race equity and inclusion more broadly are an essential component of the new Quality Assurance Framework, and this training will help achieve those expectations and support your development on your journey with us.
We have also produced an Inclusive Language Guide to support you in this work.
